PRTrax™ Press Release Reader Tracking
Thank you for your interest in Neotrope's PRTrax™ press release readership tracking service.
Introduction
Since 1983, Neotrope® has delivered proven, effective, and consistent PR services, business marketing services and technology solutions. Since 1995, Neotrope has been a leader in developing innovative technology solutions for the Internet, including e-commerce, banner ad management systems, DRM solutions for digital content, and SEO solutions like DotComMojo™ and ContextEngine®.
OVERVIEW: What is PRTrax™
Simply put, PRTrax is a unique solution to track readership of press release content across an entire news network, not just one news site as with other services. It helps you to know who is reading your press release(s) with a wealth of valuable information. PTRax is an annual subscription service which is highly affordable and easy to use.
Best of all, the "basic" version is FREE whenever you choose one of our "National" level news distribution plans.
What Does the PRtrax™ Premium Service Cost
This very affordable add-on to Send2Press targeted news distribution plans is only $49 for a "Single" story subscription account, or $49 for a "Multi" story subscription account. Each account runs for one year, and is renewable. See the "Features" section, below, for more specifics as to the difference between a single or multi account. The service is ordered at same time as any news distribution project in our Order Center. Obviously, the account will need to be set-up prior to a release going out in order to properly track readership data.
EXAMPLE ACCOUNTS AND COST:
| PLAN TYPE | COST PER YEAR | DETAILS |
| PRTrax™ BASIC | Free with any "National" distribution package. | Tracks all your stories which appear on Send2Press.com (does not track reads on other sites). |
| PRTrax™ SINGLE | $49 per year, per release. | Tracks one release project on Send2Press.com, and all applicable Neotrope News Network sites. |
| PRTrax™ MULTI | $49 per year. | Tracks ALL your releases on Send2Press.com, and all applicable Neotrope News Network sites. |
| FAQ: Why use the SINGLE account? You may have multiple clients, or a special project, that you wish to track individually across our news network. The MULTI account aggregates reports for ALL your releases, and is easier to manage, but would combine stats for all your releases/clients over the year. The two account types give you flexibility in the kind of reports you need or want.

Practical Example of How it Works
You issue a story via Send2Press Newswire, which runs on Send2Press.com, and also appears on Neotrope News Network magazine and content sites California Newswire®, eNewsChannels™, FloridaNewswire™, and elsewhere depending on content (site list is found below, on this page).
Each time your story is found in search results on sites like Google.com, Google News, AOL.com, MSN.com, Delicous, DIGG, Yahoo! Buzz, Technorati, etc., a reader will "click through" to the original article or press release on our content sites, and the PRTrax system will register this viewing (where possible; some views cannot be tracked). When you log-in to your PTRrax account, your reports provide information about who has read your story based on numerous trackable metrics (list of what is tracked is below, on this page), and where they came from.

NOTE: clicking any thumbnail above will open new browser window for that image; with Internet Explorer (IE) and some other web browsers, the browser will shrink-to-fit the image to fit the window. In IE you need to click the image in the new window for it to appear full size at 100%. In the example report screens "unresolved" clicks/hits refer to "reads" which attempted to block any cookie, IP, or image tracking, but which we were still able to track using secondary tracking system.
Features of the PRTrax™ Service
- Understand The Value of Online Version of Press Releases
Traditionally the main purpose of a press release was to entice media folk to consider use in print or broadcast venues. However, over the past decade the secondary use of press releases has evolved into an online marketing component specifically to put news into as many "credible" places on the Internet as possible. These sources can include news aggegation portals like Google News, RSS sites, blogs, social networks like Newsvine or Reddit, and magazine sites in the Neotrope News Network. The Send2Press Newswire service is one of the best in the business at online placement of news, and by adding the PRTrax option, you can better understand how and where media and the public are seeing and READING your content, and where they came from.
- Secure Account to View Real-time Stats
From a secure log-in account you can track data such as: views by story and by web site; clicks through to read the story from news sites and social portals; keywords used to search and find your stories in search engines; countries and languages used; and more (complete list below).
-
Flexible, Affordable Subscription Options
Choice of two service options: "Single" or "Multi." With the single story option, one PRTrax account will track readership of the story across the Neotrope News Network (site list below). With the multi story option, all press releases sent out over the year will be tracked from one PRTrax account with keyword and referrer data being aggregated from all stories. You may upgrade from the single story option to multi story option at any time, but this does not extend length of original subscription.
