MIAMI, Fla., April 21, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — The famous Russell Cattle Ranch, a 420+ acres working cattle ranch in Bonifay in north Florida just minutes from I-10, will be auctioned May 2 in a special “retirement auction,” Auction Company of America announced today.
The auction, with Hall of Fame auctioneer Jim Gall, begins at noon with an 11 a.m. preview.
“This is quite a unique opportunity for what we call the ‘Ponderosa’ of Florida,” said Gall, recently inducted into the Florida Auctioneer’s Association Hall of Fame. “This is a multi-purpose farm that could be used for hogs, cattle, dairy, beef, goats, sheep or could be the largest calf ranch in the Southeast once again. It could even possibly be subdivided into home development. The size and configuration of the property offers a wide range of possibilities.”
The property has a variety of amenities, including several barns, grain bins — with a 25,000-bushel capacity — and two hydraulic-driven pivot systems. The fields on the ranch are irrigated from nearby Wrights Creek and are permitted by North West Florida Water Management, which recently renewed the permit for 10 years.
In addition to the ranch itself, the three bedroom, two and half bath home — complete with game room, Florida/sun room, in-ground, screen enclosed pool and a fully stocked front yard pond — are included in the auction.
