FAIRMONT, W.Va., Feb. 8, 2012 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Backbone Security, the market leader in advanced digital steganography detection and hidden information extraction tools, is pleased to announce availability of the newest version of Steganography Analyzer Artifact Scanner, StegAlyzerAS, their industry leading application for detecting 1,025 digital steganography applications.
A unique feature of StegAlyzerAS is the capability to process the Windows registry to detect keys and values associated with steganography applications. A steganography application can be uninstalled and the files and folders associated with the application can be deleted; however, there may keys or values in the registry that would indicate the associated steganography application had been installed on the computer at one time.
StegAlyzerAS v3.8 features enhanced Windows registry scanning capability that substantially decreased the time required to scan an offline Windows registry.
Bart Guerreri, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Backbone Security, said “We are sensitive to the time it takes forensics examiners to process the ever growing amount of digital storage media. Accordingly, we are very pleased to offer a new version of StegAlyzerAS that features a significant reduction in the time required to scan a Windows-based computer.”
StegAlyzerAS is a member of the StegAlyzer family of products developed in Backbone’s Steganography Analysis and Research Center (SARC). Other products in the StegAlyzer family include the Steganography Analyzer Signature Scanner (StegAlyzerSS) and Steganography Analyzer Real-Time Scanner (StegAlyzerRTS).
StegAlyzerSS detects more signatures of steganography applications than any other commercially available product and provides a unique “point-click-and-extract” interface to extract hidden information.
StegAlyzerRTS is the world’s only commercially available network security appliance capable of detecting steganography in real time in the inbound and outbound network traffic stream.

The Steganography Application Fingerprint Database (SAFDB) is the world’s largest database exclusive to digital steganography applications.
