NEEDHAM, Mass., Nov. 13 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — The following designers were selected from a large pool of applicants for the third annual Festival of Wreaths – a holiday showhouse which opens on Saturday, November 29 and continues through Saturday, December 13th at the Van Millwork Showroom in Needham, MA. This festive event benefits the Room to Dream Foundation, dedicated to creating healing environments for children and adolescents facing chronic and debilitating illnesses.
This year’s designers are:

* Charise Perkett Glasson of Charise Perkett Glasson, interiors with distinction, in Attleboro
* Michael Ferzoco of Eleven Interiors, in Boston
* Karyn Koulopoulus of Silver Beech Studio, in Ashland
* John Maciejowski of John Maciejowski Interiors, Inc., in Melrose
* Michelle Mordis of Michelle Mordis Interiors, in Chelsea
* Marc Silipo and Barbara Prosser of Babel’s Paint & Decorating Stores, in Norwood
* Kevin Sumner of Sumner and Company, in Plymouth and Alton Bay, NH
* Rebecca Wilson of RW Interiors, in Needham
* Nancy Wright and Lisa Calderone of Perennial Designs, in Needham
This year there is a new design competition element to the event with awards being presented for the following:
The Premier Design Award, judged by Heather Unru, anchor, WCVB, Channel 5; Kristy Lee, anchor, NECN; Estelle Bond Guralnick, Traditional Home Magazine; and Gerald Pomeroy, Gerald Pomeroy Design Group.
The Designer’s Choice Award, judged by Kathie Chrisicos, Chrisicos Interiors; Richard Erwin, Ames Print; Mary Beth Markunas, Pierre Deux; Susan Shulman, Susan Shulman Design; and Wayne Southworth, President, New England Chapter of the IFDA.
The Editor’s Choice Award hand picked by Rachel Levitt, Home Editor for Boston Magazine Group.
The People’s Choice Award, offering visitors to the showhouse the opportunity to vote on-line for their favorite room at www.bostonmagazine.com/festivalofwreaths.
The Festival of Wreaths showcases the talents of these designers who will decorate the entire Van Millwork Showroom, transforming it in to a holiday show house. The holiday show house is open to the public for two weeks and ends with a black-tie optional Gala and silent auction on December 13th.
The Room to Dream Foundation focuses its services on children and families living in low and moderate-income urban and suburban areas. In order to complete each renovation, the foundation purchases all of the furnishings and supplies; every purchase is tailored to the specific needs of a child or family. Through a caring staff of professional and amateur artists, interior decorators, and volunteers, the foundation designs and transforms living spaces that give children and adolescents room to dream of a healthier future.
The third annual Festival of Wreaths, located at the Van Millwork Showroom, 65 Crawford Street, Needham, is open to the public Saturday, November 29 through Friday, December 12. Hours are 10AM-4PM, Monday through Friday; 11AM-2PM Saturday, November 29 and Saturday, December 6; and 1PM-5PM, Sunday November 30 and Sunday, December 7. Admission is $10.00 per person; children under ten free. The purchase of raffle tickets will be available (many of the holiday decorations will be raffled off).
