WASHINGTON, D.C., Jan. 14 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Now through January 21, one “click” will directly benefit America’s national parks by casting a vote for the National Park Foundation in the $1 million Lowe’s Community Giving Campaign. With only eight days remaining, the national parks need your help. The Foundation encourages supporters to vote daily at www.lowes.com/give or www.facebook.com/lowes . The National Park Foundation is one of four charities competing for the grant from the Lowe’s Charitable and Education Foundation.

As part of the challenge grant campaign, each of the competing charities is guaranteed $100,000. Public support through an online voting campaign will determine how the remaining $600,000 will be allotted to the four charities. Funds raised for the Foundation through this campaign will support national park restoration and preservation efforts, connect under served communities to their parks, and give disadvantaged children the opportunity to experience their national parks for the first time.

“The National Park Foundation is excited to participate in Lowe’s unique online campaign,” said Neil Mulholland, President and CEO of the National Park Foundation. “We are confident in the support of our passionate national park community to help us get the word out about voting so that we can secure the most funding possible.”

Consumers can access the voting by visiting www.lowes.com/give or on Lowe’s Facebook page. Each individual is able to cast a vote once per day, per email address through January 21. The final percentages of votes for each charity will be posted on the Lowe’s website by midnight on January 26, 2011.
