LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Oct. 30 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — The Sher Institute for Reproductive Medicine(SM) (SIRM(TM)) in Los Angeles is currently recruiting patients to take part in a study that examines the effect of specific medical protocols in women who are considered “poor responders” to fertility medications. Patients who meet the qualification criteria and are selected to take part in the study will be eligible to receive up to $6,000 worth of free medications as part of their treatment.
To qualify, participants must be between 35-40 years of age, have not failed more than 1 prior IVF treatment and meet one of the following additional criteria:
- * Cycle day-3 FSH must be greater than 9MIU/ml
* At least 450 IU/day of gonadotropins must have been used in their previous IVF cycle.
* Must have had less than 6 eggs retrieved in their previous IVF cycle
* Peak Estradiol level has been tested at less than 1000 pg/ml
For those considering In Vitro Fertilization treatment, this study has the potential of saving them a considerable amount of money. In a typical IVF cycle, medication costs may comprise 25% of the total cycle cost. In poor responders that require higher doses of medications, that percentage can exceed 50% of cycle costs.
Those interested in more information can contact SIRM-Los Angeles and schedule a consultation with Dr. Mory Nouriani, Coordinator of the study at (818) 291-1985. Space is limited to 40 participants only.
