Also one can attend the inspiring “A Southern Road to Freedom,” a stirring musical tribute, by the Holy Family Gospel Choir, to the struggle and victory of the African-American experience in Natchez. “Southern Exposure” is a satirical comedy on the Pilgrimage and “The Songs of the South” by the Natchez Opera Festival presents Stephen Foster traditional spirituals. The 2005 Natchez Fall Pilgrimage (October 22 – November 5) features 18 antebellum homes on a cycle of three days of 3 homes in the morning followed by three different homes in the afternoon with Longwood (1861) being available every day! In the evening one can attend the “Amos Polk’s Voices of Hope Spiritual Singers” while enjoying a traditional southern dinner in the world famous Carriage House Restaurant on the grounds of historic Stanton Hall (1857) for $28 per person.
