Julie was the youngest of seven children and since most of her toys were hand-me-downs, she was attracted to stories because they were something that would never break or get old. Mrs. Chicos wrote “The Life of Riley the Cat” while pregnant with her son with the purpose of teaching him the wonderful lessons that her parents taught her as a child. Today, Julie divides her time between Marblehead and Nantucket Island with her husband Ken, their son, Owen, and their faithful cat Riley.
