A Healthier Home, LLC, is western North Carolina's leading environmental home health services provider.
I’m Rick Bayless. My business, A Healthier Home, offers friendly, accessible environmental home health and safety investigations in the southern Appalachians. We’ve won multiple annual awards for our “Super Service” from Angie’s List, and we bring our commitment to quality to every home we visit.
Did you know that your home is actually a living ecosystem? After 35 years of experience, I’ve learned to look beyond the surface, to assess the symptoms of problems, and identify root issues. My goal is to offer individuals and families the workable solutions needed for prevention, intervention, and control of situations that may occur in their homes.
To become a qualified environmental home health investigator, one begins with a bachelor’s degree in environmental science or a related field; mine is from Rutgers University. After that, national certification is the way to go. You’ll find I’m board certified as an indoor environmental consultant by the Indoor Air Quality Association as administered by the American Council of Accredited Certifications, and as a Healthy Homes Specialist through the National Environmental Health Association. Also, I’m a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency certified lead risk assessor, and an HVAC specialist.
