Christina Kovacs Newsroom - Profile and News Archive
Christina Kovacs is a patient advocate who was diagnosed with neurological Lyme disease in 2011, and made it her mission to educate Kentuckians about this rapidly growing disease. Kovacs' acute Lyme disease infection was initially missed by Doctors, which led to a late-stage diagnosis years later that was more aggressive and difficult to treat. Kovacs became bed-bound for years and underwent many difficult treatments, which fueled her passion for patient advocacy.
Kovacs now works closely with fellow patients and organizations alike to spread awareness and raise money for research. She's partnered with local hospital Kings Daughters Medical Center to help give medical items to patients in need, as well as larger scale organizations such as Global Lyme Alliance and The LymeLight Foundation who provides treatment grants to children in need.
