The story of Safety Dog Diego is based on true events. In the spring of 2020, during the COVID-19 lockdown, Angel was sent to work full-time in San Diego, CA, as a Safety Professional in construction. He took their newly adopted puppy, Diego, with him to work each day. Diego, equipped with a playpen and teddy bear, was nicknamed “Safety Dog Diego” by Tracey. Two years later, upon learning they would become grandparents, Tracey was inspired to create a book series for their grandson, Alexander. This idea stemmed from her own childhood memories of her maternal grandmother, Gloria, who personalized books for Tracey. Excited about creating similar memories for Xander, Tracey and Angel developed the storyline for the first book, setting the tone for a series centered around the main character, Safety Dog Diego. They are thrilled to launch this love-inspired project and hope everyone will enjoy it
