SEATTLE, Wash., Nov. 2, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — The Epilepsy Foundation Northwest announces two regional conferences this month celebrating National November Epilepsy Awareness Month. The conferences will be held in Seattle, Wash. and Spokane, Wash., and are free and open to the public.
The conference in Seattle will be on Saturday, November 7, 2015 in Kane Hall at the University of Washington from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Keynote speaker, Dr. Martha Morrell of Stanford University and Chief Medical Office for NeuroPace, will present on the topic of “Neuro Stimulation in the Treatment of Epilepsy.”
Morrell will be joined by other medical and education professionals presenting on a variety of topics relating to epilepsy including “Trends in Medication,” “Seizure Support Dogs,” “College Resources for Students with Epilepsy,” and “Nutrition and Epilepsy.” The Seattle conference will be available via web-cast.

The conference in Spokane will be held on Saturday, November 14 at the Health Education Center at the Providence Holy Family Hospital from 8:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Dr. Timothy Powell will present on the “Science Behind Medications,” and Dr. Gregory MacDonald will present on “Cannabis & Epilepsy.” Other topics include “Nutrition and Epilepsy,” and “Owning Your Epilepsy.”
