This weekend-long event will take place in downtown Lebanon and Bennett Spring State Park. Proceeds from most games and food sales at this year’s Festival will benefit The American Cancer Society.

“As soon as we learned about the festival and these contests, we knew it was something we wanted to throw our support behind,” said Marc Resnik, owner of ThrowThings.com, who learned about the contests through a news article posted on the Internet. “The contests will be tremendous fun, and they benefit a good cause, so it was a natural tie-in for us.”

Resnik is already looking forward to ThrowThings.com’s potential involvement in the 2006 Hillbilly Days Festival. “Although it was too late to change this year’s planned Lollipop Lick-Off contest for the children, we’re hopeful that we’ll be able to talk the planners into a new event for next year where the kids can toss their cookies,” Resnik said.
Complete terms of the sponsorship arrangement were not disclosed, but ThrowThings.com will be providing prizes for the contest winners including: T-shirts, sports bottles, and mugs that read “I ThrowThings,” old fashioned yokel Mortimer Snerd ventriloquist dummies and authentic Australian boomerangs. ThrowThings.com will also be providing custom imprinted commemorative flying discs for all contestants.
Hillbilly Days was first organized in 1974 and is continued by the Lebanon Area Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. It is the oldest yearly event held in a Missouri State Park and gives kids of all ages a chance to experience the joys of yester-year.
