WDC RELEASES KOLOSOFT INTRUDER MONITORING SOFTWARE. LOGS ALL COMPUTER KEYSTROKES AND INTERNET ACTIVITY
Rancho Santa Margarita (Irvine), CA -- (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE via PRNetwire) -- August 5, 2002 - WDC/KoloSoft Inc. has developed a new product for parents who want to monitor their children's computer activity and employers who want to monitor suspicious activity in the work place.
KoloSoft Intruder along with its network companion KoloSoft Professional Edition are cost effective, yet powerful, tools for both home and work. KoloSoft is completely hidden within your computer system after installation. The only way to access it is by entering a password on your keyboard after a series of keystrokes.
Each activity is logged with the date and time, keystrokes entered, what application was used along with the computer name and person who is logged on to that computer. Internet activity logs the web site's URL, the name of the site, date time, computer name and the person who visited the site and what Window/Browser was used.
"I'm a big supporter of ones right to privacy," says KoloSoft founder and lead developer, Wayne Davis, "but when it comes to our children's safety, our company's security or one's right to protect ourselves we should use whatever means necessary to do so. Each time I hear in the news about a child being lured away by some Internet predator, I only wish I had written KoloSoft years ago"
KoloSoft Intruder (home version) is ideal for parents who wish to participate in their children's online activities. It is an excellent alternative to standard filtering and blocking software. It's simple to install and cannot be detected.
KoloSoft Professional edition contains all the features of the Home edition plus the KoloSoft Remote Viewer for flexible network functions that allow you to send and receive reports via the Internet or the corporate LAN. KoloSoft Intruder and KoloSoft Remote Viewer each include advanced reporting functions: the ability to save a copy of the log file, extract the log file data to a document of your choice, copy to your computers clip board, print and delete/purge the log file. This highly-flexible program provides the PCs equivalent of the security camera (and much more). It is simply and silently installed while causing no disruption to working practices or draining computer resources.
"This application offers a useful tool for system and network administrators," says Kevin Stephens, a Network Administrator for a Television Network in Nashville, Tenneseee. "Not only can you know where users are going on the internet but what users do that create problems by using their computer improperly. Knowing what keystrokes and key combinations generate an error is crucial in diagnosing a problem."
"KoloSoft is simple to use and an unobtrusive way to track Internet browsing and keystrokes," adds Stephens. "Knowing what a user types can often point to what caused an application to crash or misbehave. The ability to use it across a network is an added benefit for central monitoring."
PRODUCT INFORMATION:
