Patriotic Music in High Demand - Muzak Extends Play Schedule
Charlotte, NC - June 29, 2004 /Send2Press Newswire/ -- Muzak (www.muzak.com) is extending
the scheduled air time of its popular "Independence Day" music program. The special mix of
thematic American pop, patriotic songs and "summer fun favorites" will be available to
clients June 29 - July 5.
In past years, the program has only been available to clients for three days.
"We've received a noticeable increase in requests for access to this music," said Bruce
McKagan, vice president of Muzak Audio Architecture. McKagan points to troop support, an
election year and the Olympics as reasons for the general increase in patriotic pride.
"Music is vital to our culture and a valuable emotional expression of the American spirit.
Our clients want to express that spirit and celebrate Independence Day in a way that's
positive, symbolic and fun. That's what the music is all about," McKagan said.
The program includes songs such as "Living in America" by James Brown, "Stars and Stripes
Forever" by the Boston Pops Orchestra, "America the Beautiful" by Ray Charles and "Song of
the Patriot" by Johnny Cash. (See sample play list below.)
Independence Day is part of the company's regular series of seasonal offerings, providing
music to complement various holidays and special events.
