Apple Educators Distinguish the Digital Lifestyle Expo & Symposium
LOS ANGELES, Calif. - August 2, 2004 /Send2Press Newswire/ -- A host of Apple
Distinguished Educators (ADEs) are scheduled to teach at the first Digital Lifestyle
Symposium(tm), to be held at the Long Beach Convention Center August 13 - 15
(www.dlexpo.com). DLexpo's Southern California symposium features some of the most
renowned experts and teachers working in the digital technology field today. ADEs from
across the country share their expertise in the latest technological tools and how to
implement digital technology into the classroom.
DLexpo has partnered with the Orange County (California) Department of Education and is
offering special pricing for anyone working in a K-12 school or in higher education.
With a valid educator or student ID, entry into the expo is $5, workshops are $13 each,
and the 12-hour, two-day symposium is only $29.
"Organizing this lineup was inspiring," said Cameron Barrett, the education consultant
for DLexpo, and a former professor at the University of Miami and University of Georgia.
"When we targeted ADEs as instructors we knew we were creating an event that no K-12 or
higher education teacher would want to miss."
Other luminaries teaching in Long Beach include New York Times columnist David Pogue,
Andy Ihnatko from the Chicago Sun-Times, Colin Smith of Photoshop Café, David Barrett of
R/com Networks, and Apple's Rhonda Stratton. Titles for the dozens of workshops cover
digital video, digital music, web technologies and digital photography. For a complete
list of workshops visit http://www.dlexpo.com.
It all begins on Friday, August 13 when Dvcreators.net kicks off the show with a special
session on digital video editing using Final Cut Pro. The session is $59 with discounts
available for students and teachers. Workshops run throughout Saturday and Sunday and
vary in length from one to three hours. The Symposium takes place in the main theater
and covers web technologies and digital photography on Saturday, and digital video and
digital music on Sunday.
David Pogue, Andy Ihnatko, Rhonda Stratton, David Barrett, Colin Smith and many other
experts take the stage during this multimedia event. Possibly the most exciting of the
workshops is offered by Nikon; for the price of the workshop attendees not only acquire
hands-on experience using the Coolpix 3200, but they get to take the camera home! And
don't forget, the expo floor features dozens of exhibitors sharing their products and
expertise on two demonstration stages.
