Dog-Friendly Travel Company Announces Fall of Fabulous Dog & Owner Day & Weekend Trips
NEW YORK, NY - September 21, 2004 /Send2Press Newswire/ -- Blue Sky Dogs (www.blueskydogsny.com),
the Northeast's premiere Dog-Friendly Travel Company, has announced an unprecedented fall
schedule of Best Friends Day & Weekend trips. Best Friends Days and Weekends, exclusive services
of Blue Sky Dogs, offer busy dog owners the opportunity to escape with their best friends on all-
inclusive day and weekend trips that cater to worry-free, active dog and owner travel.
"Our Fall Best Friends Day & Weekend trips offer a wide array of dog-friendly itineraries and
activities in highly desirable fall locations throughout the Northeast," stated Blue Sky Dogs
founder and owner, Tammy McCarley. "We're offering something for every dog and owner this fall
in locations covering the Northeast from the Hudson Valley to Long Island's North Fork, the
Catskills and Vermont."
Dog-friendly day trip offerings include fall foliage hikes, pet photography workshops, wine
tasting and even a dog-friendly cruise up the Hudson River. Best Friends Weekends include a
Howlin' Halloween Weekend in the Catskills, and a trip to the Two Dog Lodge in Stowe, VT with a
visit to the gallery of famed dog artist, Stephen Huneck.

to capture each trip, and distributes photos to each participant upon their return. Best Friends
Day Trips typically accommodate 10-15 owners and dogs and package prices average $150 per person
with one dog. Owners electing to drive themselves to trip locations receive discounts on trip
packages.
Best Friends Weekends trip packages are also all-inclusive, with the exception of dog-friendly
transportation. The Fall 2004 Best Friends Weekend trips include beautiful deluxe B&B
accommodations, guided activities, delicious meals, evening entertainment, numerous goodies for
the dogs, owner gifts, photos and several transportation options depending on location. Best
Friends Weekends typically accommodate 20-25 dogs and their owners, and package prices average
$600-700 per weekend for singles and $800-1,000 per weekend for couples with one dog. Prices
vary by location.
"We're very excited about our fall travel schedule and the opportunity to continue to offer dog
owners the opportunity to get away with their best friends to places they never dreamed of
traveling to with their dog," said McCarley. "Our trips welcome singles, couples, families and
children, as well as dogs big and small, young and old. We truly aim to put together weekends
away that everyone will enjoy - both human and canine."
Tammy McCarley and her faithful canine companion, Sienna, founded Blue Sky Dogs, The Canine
Adventure Company in 2003 in New York City. In addition to Best Friends Day & Weekend trips, the
company also offers Dog Adventure Days (dog-only day hiking trips to wilderness areas a short
drive from New York City where dogs frolic and play) and Dog-Friendly Travel Planning services
for dog owners interested in traveling on customized dog-friendly vacations.
