Castella and Vazquez Reach 300,000 Music Downloads

PHILADELPHIA, PA - November 9, 2004 /Send2Press Newswire/ -- Bliss Entertainment LLC (www.blissentco.com) announced today that the slow pop remix of an original dance version, "Russ Castella featuring Karen Vazquez - Angel Eyes" has jumped to #2 as the most downloaded song on the Internet, according to mp3search.com. The Philadelphia based duo has racked up approximately 300,000 total unique downloads in the past two months alone -- beating many major artists such as Eminem, Britney Spears, and Usher.
Bliss Entertainment LLC, the record label which was formed earlier this year by Russ Castella, age 20, showed no remorse once again as their release was being exploited and downloaded for free worldwide in such a large quantity. The company actually stated that it will "continue pushing the free downloading of their artist's mp3s because it will gain the demand."
"If you look at it in the long run," says Russ Castella, "It only helps us for the future to be prepared for more important projects like full-length albums. When we see a rising popularity, then we can somewhat expect a demand."
The independent record label has also initiated a CD giveaway marketing campaign. Thousands of CDs will be available to patrons of hundreds of participating venues across U.S. during the upcoming Christmas holidays. The CD will include "Angel Eyes" as well as a few other songs by Russ Castella. The album is expected sometime in 2005.
Bliss Entertainment is one of the few record labels who support the idea of free mp3 downloading to the extent of permission by the record label or the copyright holder. "You can download the mp3s all you want," states Russ Castella, "but not from those who are against sharing their music to world for free. That is equivalent to stealing and should continue to stay illegal."
