NETWORK NEWS CORRESPONDENT DEBUTS AS INDEPENDENT FILMMAKER
LAS VEGAS, NV - November 18, 2002 /Send2Press Newswire/ -- News is all about telling stories. Now, NBC News Correspondent Don Teague takes his award winning style and hits the big screen. Teague has moved behind the lens, as Cinematographer, Producer, and Writer of the independent film, Song of Songs, premiering at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival in Las Vegas.
The film, a romantic comedy, is a change of direction for Teague, who has spent the last 14 years covering hard news; from riots and tornadoes to political campaigns. "It's about love, laughter, and learning what's really important in life," said Teague.
About the Film: Song of Songs
Love can make you stupid. Heart-pounding, knee-shaking, mind-numbing love can make you do dumb things. Song of Songs is the story of Jolene Black, who is ready to toss out everything she's worked her whole life for to win the heart of the man of her dreams, her roommate Josh Hanson. The problem is she's the exact opposite of everything he's looking for, and he's even got a list to prove it. To make matters worse, he's found the perfect woman in L.A., and he's on his way to meet her. Risking everything, Jolene jumps into the middle of Josh's plans and takes a road trip for love. It's a long way from their home in Austin to the beaches of California and a lot can happen, but on the road of life, expect detours. Song of Songs, it's about taking chances, looking for love, and the road trip from hell.
Song of Songs is a million dollar film on a $20,000 budget. It was shot entirely on location in San Diego, California. It stars Kevin Otto as Josh Hanson, and Kiki Teague as Jolene Black. It was directed by Vancouver Filmmaker Tobin J.W. Smith, making his feature film directorial debut.
Don Teague joined NBC News as a Correspondent in June, 2002. Previously he worked as an Anchor and Reporter in San Diego, Boston, Cincinnati, and Wichita Falls, TX. He is seen regularly on NBC Nightly News, The Today Show, and MSNBC.
