ANNAPOLIS GROUP LAUNCHES COLLEGE NEWS PORTAL WITH INGENIUX CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Consortium of 112 Liberal Arts Colleges Streamlines Publishing with Ingeniux CMS
SEATTLE, WA - Dec. 11, 2002 /Send2Press Newswire/ -- The Annapolis Group, an organization of leading liberal arts colleges, has announced the launch of a comprehensive news portal, www.collegenews.org, using Ingeniux Content Management System (CMS). The site brings together current research, news, commentary and information from 112 liberal arts colleges across the nation. The news portal seeks to increase the visibility of the nation's leading liberal arts colleges and to promote the value of a residential liberal arts education.
The Annapolis Group selected Ingeniux (www.ingeniux.com) CMS because it allows non-technical staff, such as public relations directors, at each college to publish their news and information directly to the web from their institutions. With member colleges dispersed across the nation, the Annapolis Group faced huge training expenses unless contributors could quickly and effectively publish online. Ingeniux Content Management System's ease of use allowed for streamlined content aggregation from all 112 organizations that contribute to collegenews.org.
"The success of www.collegenews.org depends very much on the constant flow of news and other material to the site. For that to happen, we needed a content management system that makes it easy for non-technical authors across the consortium to contribute their stories, research and information and then publish it quickly and effectively to the site," said Tom Krattenmaker, Director of News and Information for Swarthmore College and a member of the Annapolis Group public relations committee. "That's where Ingeniux CMS comes in. We are confident that this new web site will help us achieve our goal of increasing public appreciation of liberal arts colleges."
Michael Stoner, president of mStoner, an e-strategy consulting firm, helped the Annapolis Group to define and build collegenews.org. "We wanted to find the best solution to enable the Annapolis Group members to add their own, up-to-date content to the site. Since the organization is highly distributed, this would be a real challenge -- if we weren't using Ingeniux CMS."
