SANTA NIGHT IS COMING TO TOWN

BURLINGTON, VT - Dec. 11, 2002 /Send2Press Newswire/ -- FunRaising101 today announces the launch of the fifth annual Santa Night™ Fundraiser (www.santanight.com) which starts at 5:00PM EST on Friday, December 13, 2002. Groups of "not very good" singers will be caroling throughout communities in New York, Vermont, New Jersey, West Virginia, and Florida in order to raise money for children and families in need this holiday season. In each state, community-minded business people are dressing up as Santas and Elves, gathering pledges, visiting local bars and restaurants, singing songs, and having a fantastic time while helping the less fortunate.

What makes Santa Night different is the contagious energy and excitement it generates. The spirit catches everyone and makes leading and participating in the event easy and fun. In contrast to most fundraisers where it can be difficult to recruit participants, Santa Night is so much fun that there are actually people on waiting lists in some locations. Santa Night started in 1998 as a local fundraiser in Burlington, Vermont, USA (pop. 39,000). After their initial success, co-founders Dean Ferrara and Andrew Allen decided to bring the Santa Night mission on the road. "Our vision is that Santa Night will happen in every community around the globe on the second Friday in December of every year. We are expanding Santa Night because so many organizations and individuals are desperately in need of help. We believe that if everyone can give a little, we can accomplish a lot," says Ferrara.
