OVER 300 WOMEN OF ALL AGES TO GATHER IN SACRAMENTO AND CAPITOL MAY 15TH FOR THE 12TH ANNUAL 'WOMEN IN ACTION LOBBY DAY'
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - May 12, 2003 /Send2Press Newswire/ -- Over 300 women of all ages
will gather Thursday, May 15th for the educational and action oriented "Women In
Action Lobby Day (WIALD) 2003" to focus on the topic "Access to Health Care: Do
We Have It When We Need It?" Keynote Speaker will be Rose Ann Demoro, California
Nurses Association.
A coalition of 10 women organizations from throughout California have been
unifying over the past several months to create a strong united voice to share
with state legislators on the important health issues that affect the
communities in our state.
Discussions will include successful lobbying of state legislators and review of
SB 921 and other related health bills, featuring a keynote address by Rose Ann
DeMoro, Executive Director of the California Nurses Association.
The afternoon panel entitled "A Real World Perspective" will share insights on
young women's view of access to healthcare, take a close look at California's
2003 - 2004 health budget, and discuss current reproductive health care issues.
