ICHATTERS.COM FILLS NICHE NICELY: HOOKING-UP ICHATAV USERS
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA - Aug. 14, 2003 (Send2Press Newswire) -- After
successfully launching iChatters.com in beta on August 4th, today
iChatters.com emerges from beta testing with over 1300 members just over a
week. Such success, based almost entirely on word-of-mouth, proves that
there is a viable market for creating an online space where iChatAV users
can find each other online.
iChatters.com, a free service, allows iChatAV users to create profiles
(with photos) and sign up sign up for affinity rooms ranging from General
Chat to uncensored Adult Chat. Once logged-in, users will see other users
who have signed up for the same type of affinity rooms.
Recently, iChatters.com added an extended profile functionality which
shows a live status indicator, optional photo, and other optional
information that people may want to put into their profile. The software
has also been upgraded to show only users with similar Adult Status. Users
who have not chosen Adult Access will not have to be subjected to adult
content.
New features added this week are:
- Profile Search - Users can search other online profiles, including those
that are currently online or those that are offline.
- Konfabulator Plugin - This plug-in shows how many people are online that
want to chat at any given time.
New features coming soon:
- Buddy Lists - Email or an instant message notification when their
friends come online.
- Stealth Mode - This optional user made will keep your username hidden
and others will have to use iChatters.com's "blind-massaging" system to
request chats.
- Instant Messaging through iChatters.com - Users can request chats (with
a preview picture and profile) directly through iChatters.com. Instead of
sending just a simple text message through iChatAV, users will be able to
attach a preview picture and more profile information allowing for a more
functional chat-request screening system.
About iChatters.com
iChatters.com was written, designed, and developed by Jeffrey M. Glover.
Mr. Glover came up with the idea for iChatters.com during Steve Job's
Keynote in June at the Worldwide Apple Developers Conference. While there
are other sites that have similar ideas and concepts, he believes that
iChatters.com fills the niche nicely while maintaining a distinct Mac OS
user experience. iChatters.com plans to remain as a free service by
subsidizing the cost with online banner advertising and donations.
