GREENWOOD GOLF, INC. ANNOUNCES THE CREATION OF THE WORLD'S FINEST HANDCRAFTED WOOD PUTTER: THE GREENWOOD CLASSIC
BURLINGTON, VT - Aug. 19, 2003 (Send2Press Newswire) -- Greenwood Golf,
Inc. announced today the new Greenwood Classic, a premium quality putter
designed specifically for the golfer who wants to feel at one with the
stroke -- as if the winning shot flows seamlessly from
eye-to-brain-to-hand. Its main features are an all-wood head, shaft and
grip. The natural warmth of maple, cherry and walnut feels just right in
the hands, giving the golfer the optimal control and dexterity he or she
needs to finesse the finish of each putt.
Each Greenwood Classic shaft is a lamination of blonde curly Vermont maple
with either Southern walnut or warm Vermont cherry wood, triple-coated for
protection from moisture and harmful UV. Each layer is buffed between
applications for a smooth satin finish that keeps the wood watertight and
blemish-free. The grip is a combination of curly maple and dark walnut or
cherry. A Greenwood jeweler fabricates the sterling silver base plate,
shaft collar, grip collar, and grip cap. An engraver adds the "Classic"
logo. Included are a hand sewn, sheepskin pouch to protect the head, and a
leather case for protection in the golf bag, plus a special polishing
cloth for wiping the surfaces after use.
The standard Greenwood Classic putter length is 34 inches from the bottom
of the putter sole to the top of the grip, but it can be fully customized.
The shaft length can be specified (up to 36 inches), and clients can
choose from a variety of exotic woods and precious metals. Left-handed
versions are available. The putter conforms to USGA Rules and several
patents are pending to protect the unique design features.
The putter is made in a limited edition with serial number, and is
available only through registered PGA professionals and select catalogues.
The Greenwood Classic retails $1200.00 - $1400.00, and requires 6-8 weeks
for delivery. Customers can call 802-860-1173 for information and
ordering.
"At Greenwood, we re not about mass-producing putters," says Jim Chiasson,
company founder. "In our workshop in Stowe, Vermont, our own skilled team
of designers, woodworkers, silversmiths and leather craftsmen makes each
putter to order, using premium materials."
Greenwood Golf can accommodate special orders, provide club refinishing,
and custom-designed presentation boxes.
