Miami Kiteboarding & KiteFlix Broadcasting Inc., Reach Agreement On Media Coverage For 'Kite For Girls Day' - A First Ever All Women Kiteboarding Competition
MIAMI, FL - March 15, 2004 /Send2Press Newswire/ -- The fastest growing extreme sport today is Kitesurfing and with
the help of Miami Kiteboarding (www.miamikiteboarding.com), one of the first kiteboarding schools in the nation,
women will not be left behind. In a first ever event of its kind, only women will compete on March 20, 2004 at
Crandon Park in Miami on what will become the must-attend annual event.
In addition, KiteFlix Broadcasting Inc., the producer of the most viewed Kitesurfing videos in the world, will cover
the entire event producing a first ever documentary on women kiters to be released on DVD by summer.
According to Christophe Ribot, Miami Kiteboarding's founder, "The response has been fantastic. Once the word got out
on our Kite For Girl Day event we've been overwhelmed with requests for sponsorship and rider sign-ups. With past
experience having taught so many women to kitesurf we knew that there would be interest, but we had no idea it would
be so broad based."
He added, "We are extremely pleased to work with George Saunders and KiteFlix. The exposure that KiteFlix will give
the event and our riders is an added bonus for everyone. Currently several of the nation's top 10 female kiters are
attending with a total of over 40 planning to attend thus far. The in-water competition has been officially
sanctioned by the Florida Kitesurfing Association."
KiteFlix Broadcasting distributes tens of thousands of kiting videos per month via the Internet and is a bookmark in
every kitesurfer's browser. Mr. Saunders whom was a Hollywood screenwriter prior to starting KiteFlix has broken the
mold for extreme sport videos with his unique insight and production style.
Mr. Saunders stated, "We are always looking for an opportunity to bring the human aspect to extreme sports. The Kite
For Girl Day was a natural for us as there is less ego to deal with than men. Women athletes give us the chance to
really capture the moment and convey it back to the audience."
